IT'S NOT A RACE, IT'S A JOURNEY, ENJOY THE MOMENT!
I can’t believe in 6 weeks we will have completed our 3 year mission leader journey, it so crazy to think. We have loved every minute of this experience even though at times it has been incredibly hard and there were many times when I was ready to give up. When our new missionaries would arrive I would always share with them something our daughter Brooke wrote home about when serving her mission. She realized that during her times of trials and struggles was when she was growing and progressing and the Lord was shaping her into the missionary he needed her to be. One day when I was going through my own struggles I realized this was true for me to. I too need to continually grow and progress, and I needed the Lord to shape me into the Mission Leader he needed me to be. I'm grateful for those times and pray that I was that Mission Leader, to accomplish all that was needed to be done in the Mexico Cancun Mission.
So many of you have played a part in our lives over the course of our mission and we thank you for that. Whether it was through phone calls, text, or emails, (which always made my day) we could not have done this without the love, support and prayers of family, friends and our missionary family.
As Paul and I contemplate returning home soon, we can't help but think, "Whoa! there's still so much more we want to do and teach! We're not done!" But, the truth is, we would always feel this way.
These past few weeks we have had transfers (and now we only have 1 left), multi zone conference, and a few of our last ~ our last Mission Leader Seminar, Visit from a member of our Area Presidency, Elder Villanueva, and General Conference. We had our youngest daughter and her daughter, Kirsten and Sadie, came to visit and we continue to be crazy crazy busy as we are sprinting to the finish line.
We will forever be grateful for the call to serve the Lord and His children in this beautiful part of His vineyard. We will forever be grateful for our missionaries, we truly love each one of them and they will forever hold a special place in our hearts. MMC Forever and Always!
