A DECEMBER TO REMEMBER!

Zone conference, Christmas programs, district conference, a day trip to the Merida Temple, FAMILY VISITS, Karen birthday, mission Christmas Activity~with Santa, a baptism on Christmas Day and did I say FAMILY VISITS!!! A great month enjoying the spirit of our Savior!

On December 12th Ashley, Tyler, Gavin, Beau and Luke arrived here in Cancun!! It was the best day ever and our first family to visit. This was one happy momma and grandma! Then on Tuesday, December 13th Derek, McKenna and Shiloh came! They were here to help celebrate my birthday and it  was the best week and best birthday present I could ask for.  We went to Isla Mujeres where we snorkled, toured the island, shopped and ate lunch. We went to Mercada 28 a flea market, played soccer with our office elders, went to church, and ate lots and lots of tacos.  Looking forward to Kirsten, Ben and Sadie coming on December 31st and Brooke, Jory, Rhett, Baker and Scottie coming on February 28th!!! Steven, Suany, Chase, Kenzie and Hallie are looking at the summer time to come visit and we are very excited!

As a mission we gathered together to celebrate the Christmas Season. Playa, Hacienda, Chetumal and Ramas zones on Thursday and Kabah, Valladollid and Cancun zones on Friday. We started in the chapel by having a Christmas program. We had missionaries from the office and the different zones sing, our Assistants were the narrators and Presidente ended with a beautiful Christmas message. We then went into the cultural hall had a traditional Mexican Christmas Dinner with tamales, rice and beans, salad and Cheesecakes for dessert. We had a talent show and a few missionaries sang Christmas songs, we had a white elephant gift exchange, played games, had the traditional Mexican piñata and ended the evening back in the chapel where we watched a short video and talked about how our Savior is the real gift of the season. We gave them each a white stocking to hang in their homes with pride and to write on this stocking what their gift to Jesus was this season and to think about all through the year. It was a wonderful afternoon filled with joy and happiness and and very spiritual.
