BAPTISMS, MEETINGS, AWESOME MISSIONARIES AND FAMILY!
I know I say this a lot but I'm amazed how quickly time goes by. We have been serving for 19 months and only have 17 months left! WHAT?? We have been so busy these past few weeks that it seems like a blur. We have had Transfers, Multi Zone Conferences, Mission Leadership Council Meeting and family here to keep us busy and we have loved every minute.
Baptism
We have baptisms in our mission every week, but there has been so much going on we haven't been able to make it these past few weeks. Sounds crazy, right? But on Sunday we drove 2 hours to 2 of our pueblos and attended 2 baptisms. We started in Kantunilkin attending a small group Sacrament meeting. We just opened this area and this was our first baptism here! We are hoping this area becomes a little branch soon. We then drove another hour to El Ideal, where we had another baptism. We love these saints and it was such a sweet experience!
I know when people think of our mission they think we are in the most beautiful area, which don't get me wrong because we are. But am I right? When you think of Cancun you are picturing the beautiful tourist areas that are truly beautiful and built up. Our mission is the exact opposite, and yet these people would give you the shirt off their backs. Truly humbling to serve here and with these beautiful people!
Meetings and FAMILY
Every 6 weeks we have a continuous cycle, Transfers, trainings, multi zone conferences, travel the mission, mission leadership council and then its time to start all over. These past few weeks we have had family join us on some of these. We have had 4 out of our 5 children come visit and it has been so fun to have them engage in what we do on a daily basis and to see our missionaries gravitate to our family was so sweet. We truly are one big family in Presidente and mine eyes! We dearly love our family and all of our mission family. While they were here we took a little time to enjoy some basketball with our grandson Rhett who celebrated his birthday here. Our Assistants and office elders were so kind to help get a basketball pinata and play a little basketball with him on their p~day. We also had our 3 Cancun zones on their p~day, join together to do a little service and then we played a little soccer with our soccer family. Our twins and their little brother will be going pro one day 😜 so the Anderson family took on a few missionaries and yes we won! As one of the twins said, we schooled the missionaries. 😂And our awesome missionaries were fine with this!
We were also so blessed to have our son Derek bless his baby here! It was so special for us to be able to participate in the sacred ordinance. It's so hard to be away and join by zoom (which we are so grateful we can) so this was extra special for us.
We had our house helper Domi cook a few meals for us and the family loved it! WE LOVE DOMI!! Everyone needs a Domi and I would love to bring her home with me!
We truly have some incredible missionaries and we couldn't love them any more than we already do!!It is a joy to serve beside them and watch as they find, teach and baptize in bringing souls unto Christ.
¡Estamos muy agradecidos por esta oportunidad y privilegio de amar y servir a Dios de esta manera! (We are so grateful for this opportunity and privilege to love and serve God in this way!)
