MISSION TOUR, MISSION TOUR AND OH DID I SAY MISSION TOUR!

Mission tour, Mission tour and oh did I say Mission tour!

What an honor it was to have Elder and Sister Gabaldon with us for our Mission Tour this past week. They are wonderful examples and we were blessed by their teachings and love. We were spiritually fed and are so grateful our missionaries are willing to be taught, to learn and to grow. We learned some new things and there were things that President and I have been focused on for quite some time, that Elder Gabaldon reiterated and hope and pray that our missionaries can now fully understand the importance of accomplishing these goals and our vision can be accomplished! We are very grateful for the Gabladon's and their counsel!

The week before our Mission tour we had an all mission Elders Conference and what a joy it was to be with our amazing Elders. We focused on "Raising the Bar"

Presidente focused his remarks on the theme "Raise the Bar" and My topic for the Elders was on "Unity in your Companionship." I love the direction from 'Missionary Standards for Disciples of Jesus Christ' about companionships:

Companions should help each other learn and grow. Learning patience and love, practicing forgiveness, and accepting differences in personalities will bless you throughout your life.

As companions you should: Love, respect, and strengthen each other. Be humble and recognize each other’s strengths. Treat each other as you would like to be treated. Avoid criticism and contention. Avoid speaking negatively about each other to other missionaries, Church members, or family and friends at home.

Our family back home continues to keep busy and doing great things. All 5 of our sons did the Spartan race in Utah this past summer. The Spartan race is a series of obstacles races of varying difficulty and Ogden, Utah is one of the toughest courses. Great job boys!  Our twin grandsons Beau and Gavin ran their first cross country meet and Beau took 1st place against ALL the 7th graders and Gavin came in 4th place!! So proud of them and they are definitely taking after their momma! The other grandkids are doing just as awesome in all their sports ~ football, baseball, basketball, soccer, dance, karate...you name it and we most likely have it covered! We have also had a few injuries in the past 2 weeks. Our little 3 year old granddaughter Sadie is in a cast for a dislocated elbow. Our little 3 year old granddaughter Shiloh is in a sling for a sprained arm/wrist and our 12 year old grandson Gavin sprained his back.  Grateful they are all ok and taking time to heal completely. We love and miss our family terribly but are so very grateful for their love and support of us and each other.

We love the Lord and we love this work. We are so grateful for this opportunity and for the opportunity to be together 24/7 serving with these amazing missionaries. Thank you parents for sending us the best of the best!
