DO YOU KNOW THAT PLACE?

As a dear friend once said, "Do you know that place? That place in a shared experience, where you really don't have to say it, but if you did, they would know exactly what you meant. That place for us has been our Mission Leader Seminars. I love that place!" I truly echo her words- I LOVE THAT PLACE!

Every six months all of the mission leaders serving in Mexico gather in one place to receive inspiration, training, ideas, and a shot in the arm to help us, and it really is a wonderful, just what we need, couple of days. The meetings began on Wednesday afternoon and concluded with the final wrap-up on Saturday morning. As you can imagine, after many different themes and topics presented by all of our Area Presidency members and their wives, as well as presentations by visiting General Authority Elder Marcus B. Nash and his wife, there were many takeaways to be had.

This last seminar was held in Puebla, Mexico. Thursday was a day full of meetings from early morning until late in the evening. Friday, we had the opportunity to all go to the Puebla temple together. It was so nice to get to do that, especially since we don't have a temple in our mission boundaries and rarely get the opportunity to go. The Puebla temple is pretty small, but very beautiful!

One of the things we look forward to the most at these events is reuniting with our old friends. HA! "Old" friends seems like a funny way to describe people we only met 2½ years ago and don't see very often. (We do text very often) Prior to coming to Mexico, the Americans in the group did our initial training together in a series of Zoom meetings. Since that shared beginning, we have all had a series of similar experiences in very similar places, which has created a surprisingly strong bond between us. In fact, we already have a reunion planned in Island Park, ID in August, just weeks after we all return to our homes in July. Crazy, I know. And no, we're not trunky. But we're all really excited to let down our hair, throw on some jeans, and reminisce--when the time comes.

This place makes room for sweet and meaningful friendships that you can carry with you for a lifetime and beyond. We will forever cherish this time with them!
